15 years ago (2000): Illinois State men’s tennis player Yew Ming Si won the No. 4 singles title over Jan Vanco of Southwest Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships at Drake University. Si, a junior transfer from Cumberland College, boosted his overall record to 5-1.

25 years ago (1990): A Quincy television station reported that Bloomington High School basketball coach Loren Wallace is the top candidate to replace Jerry Leggett at Quincy High School. Wallace is in his third season at Bloomington and owns a 56-17 record.

50 years ago (1965): The Pontiac Indians rolled up a new home court scoring high while routing nonconference foe Dwight, 96-64. The previous high at Pontiac was 93. Pontiac was led by sophomore Kevin Pierce with 20 counters. Reserve center John Wagner snagged 17 rebounds for the Indians.
