5 years ago (2014): The Bloomington-Normal Officials Association will induct veteran Roanoke-Benson High School baseball coach Bill Zeman, longtime WJBC Radio voice Dick Luedke and official Chris Schroeder into its Hall of Fame during the annual BNOA banquet at Illinois State’s Bone Student Center.

15 years ago (2004): Normal West rallied from a 7-0 deficit after two innings to beat rival Normal Community, 8-7, in a Big 12 Conference game. Sophomore Luke Stewart’s double scored Daniel Foote with the winning run in the sixth inning.

25 years ago (1994): A 4-minute, 24.9-second 1,600-meter split on a relay by Clint Kaeb highlighted performances by Bloomington in the Champaign Centennial Charger Relays. Kaeb’s split helped BHS place second in the 6,400-relay. Joining him were Chad Kaeb, Mark Hanson and Mike McFarland.

50 years ago (1969): Pontiac’s Buddy Dodson shrugged off a blister on his throwing hand and fired a no-hitter as he shut out Central Catholic, 6-0, in a Corn Belt Conference baseball game at Central’s field. Dodson struck out 14 batters as he used an assortment of curves and fastballs.
