5 years ago (2013): Two Dylan Overstreet 3-pointers in the opening two minutes of the second half provided the spark, and No. 5-ranked Illinois Wesleyan overwhelmed No. 8 Washington University with its depth and a huge final half at IWU’s Shirk Center.

15 years ago (2003): The Lincoln College men’s basketball team broke from a halftime tie to beat St. Louis-Meramac, 76-70. Michael Henderson and Rodney Williams led the Lynx with 19 points each. Henderson also had 13 rebounds.

25 years ago (1993): Redshirt freshman kicker Todd Kurz of Illinois State won first-team All-America honors on the Kodak Division I-AA football team. Kurz is a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He kicked a school-record 18 field goals in 24 attempts.

50 years ago (1968): Illinois State won the Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament by blasting the Panthers of Eastern Illinois University, 101-84. ISU’s Blaine Royer was voted the tournament’s outstanding player award after scoring 30 points in the final.
