5 years ago (2014): The Bloomington Flex never trailed en route to a 110-89 blowout victory over the visiting Indianapolis Diesels in front of a U.S. Cellular Coliseum crowd of 1,319. First-year player Chris Singletary led the Flex with 21 points, while Nate Fuqua added 16 points and four assists.

15 years ago (2004): Illinois Wesleyan freshman Zach Freeman banked in a shot off an inbounds pass with 2.1 seconds remaining to hand the grateful Titans a heart-stopping 78-77 overtime victory over Augustana. Freeman’s heroics moved IWU to 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the CCIW.

25 years ago (1994): Junior guard David Cason, not known for his scoring prowess, fueled a 72-57 victory over Southwest Missouri State with a career-high 20 points. Cason was perfect on eight shots from the field to tie the school record for field goal percentage in a game.

50 years ago (1969): The Illinois State University wrestling team split a dual meet at Mount Pleasant, Mich., falling to host Central Michigan, 27-10, and defeating Cincinnati, 25-12. Bill Myers and Fred Beilfuss were the only Redbird wrestlers to win two matches.
