5 years ago (2013): Illinois Wesleyan senior Tara Clemens, a Bloomington High School graduate, won the 800-meter and mile runs to earn Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet honors in the CCIW Championships at Kenosha, Wis.

15 years ago (2003): Former Illinois State coach Will Robinson will receive the lifetime achievement award during the 2003 Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Fame ceremony. Former ISU basketball player Cathy Boswell also will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the ceremony.

25 years ago (1993): Clinton capitalized on 24 of 29 shooting from the free throw line to beat Heyworth, 73-69, in the second-round of the Class A DeLand-Weldon Regional. Ben Nichols led the Maroons with 22 points, including 7 of 7 free throws in the final quarter.

50 years ago (1968): Jim Cox arched a 50-foot shot as the buzzer sounded and it plopped through, giving Bloomington a 70-68 victory over Springfield and a fifth-place Big 12 Conference tie with the Senators. The 6-foot senior pumped in 15 of his game-high 25 points in the final half.
