5 years ago (2014): Tri-Valley graduate Molly McCready pitched a pair of shutouts to become the Illinois Wesleyan softball program’s all-time leader in that category, leading the No. 19-national ranked Titans to a pair of 6-0 wins over Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Anderson College.

15 years ago (2004): Emily Krueger broke Illinois State’s single-season home run record in a 3-2 softball victory over Western Illinois. Her solo shot in the first inning gave her 14 home runs this season, breaking the mark of 13 set by Gridley product Heather Stella in 1999.

25 years ago (1994): After losing the opening game of a CCIW doubleheader, Illinois Wesleyan received eight innings of two-hit pitching from John Feely to salvage a split with a 5-1 victory over Millikin. Feely is a junior lefthander out of University High.

50 years ago (1969): Former Illinois Wesleyan baseball player Doug Rader, now of the Houston Astros, contributed a home run in a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the third inning, Joe Morgan and Jim Wynn singled before Rader homered for a 4-0 lead.
