15 years ago (2004): Bloomington resident and former major league baseball player Tim Bogar was named by the Houston Astros to manage their Class A affiliate in the South Atlantic League next season. Bogar will manage the Lexington (Ky.) Legends.
25 years ago (1994): University High point guard Jeremy Stanton sent the game into overtime with a 3-pointer and then dominated during the four-minute extra session to lead the Pioneers past Mahomet-Seymour, 61-49. Stanton scored eight of his 13 points in overtime.
50 years ago (1969): Atlanta High School, scrambling for three and four shots each time it had the ball, overcame a seven-point deficit in the third period and handed Danvers High School a 61-51 nonconference defeat. Atlanta’s Craig Cheek led the winners with 19 points.
