Tyler Martin scored a game-high 20 points, including four baskets from 3-point range, as the Tremont High School basketball team bested Illini Bluffs 70-56 in a nonconference game at Tremont on Saturday.

Tremont (6-1) went on a 23-8 second quarter run to take a 37-17 halftime lead. Illini Bluffs (6-2) cut the margin to 52-38 after three quarters but could get no closer.

Jim Kuban had a solid performance for Tremont as the junior guard scored 14 points and dished out seven assists.

Fieldcrest 64, St. Bede 55

Darin Meierhofer scored 17 points and Logan Park added 11 to lead unbeaten Fieldcrest (6-0) to a nonconference victory at Minonk.

The Knights shot 36 percent from the field (13 of 36), but made 7 of 20 attempts from 3-point range.

Park and Jarrod Cook each grabbed six rebounds for the Knights while Jake Martin handed out eight assists.
