PONTIAC - Normal West High School captured two individual titles and placed third in the Pontiac Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday.

Ryan Elam (215) and Danny Hafley (275) both won their weight classes and teammate Josh Alvis was second at 160.

Host Pontiac placed sixth as a team and had two champions, Derek Holt (160) and Tyler Sweitzer (145) and Phillip Hanson was runner-up at 152.

Elam pinned T.J. Husick of Morton in the title match and Hafley pinned Martin Smith of Quincy. Holton was a 12-10 winner over Alvis and Sweitzer won by fall over Kyle Haney of Joliet Catholic.

Morton won the team title with 220 points and Quincy was second with 200.5. The Bloomington junior varsity team was ninth with 59 points.

Morris standout running back John Dergo, who helped his team beat Normal Community in the Class 6A state football title game, won the 189 weight class.
