EUREKA—As the Woodford County Board begins a new year with new leadership and new board members, its committees are developing new goals they want to see achieved.
One focus of the Finance Committee, under the leadership of John Krug, may be more work to promote locally generated economic development.
“We need to do economic development with direct, hands-on interaction,” said committee member Duane Kingdon at the first meeting. “A lot of times, we have been spending money and getting nothing new.”
Kingdon suggested the possibility of using board secretary Lisa Jording to work with economic development issues through her office.
Committee member Doug Huser agreed with the premise.
“We get more bang for our buck if we do it locally,” Huser said.
