EUREKA—Members of the Woodford County Board’s Finance Committee indicated that they are polarized in their opinions about participating in regional economic groups at their meeting on Monday.
The committee heard from Jennifer Daily, newly appointed director of the newly named Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, a regional economic development planning group.
Daily told the committee the group had recently been re-named and its budget and structure had been consolidated and simplified.
”I don’t think economic development should be that complicated,” Daily said.
She outlined the organization’s three-part plan for the year, which includes business development for existing companies, attracting new companies and workforce development, and doing more regional marketing.
“Our group will work very hard to implement this plan,” Daily said. “We have measureable goals that we will be evaluating every quarter.”
