EUREKA - At Monday night's meeting, the city council contemplated buying a plat of land on Mill Street near the water tower. Council member Tim Getz acknowledged it would be in their best interest to proceed.
“I think it would be a good idea to consider purchasing the piece of property and then we can utilize it for storage and for our salt building,” he said.
According to recent figures, the administration committee recommended a price of $150,000 plus an additional $3,000 for closing costs. They made an offer to the property's owner last month, but no agreement was reached by either party.
