ROANOKE—The Roanoke Village Board on Monday approved the purchase of two acres of undeveloped property on the southeast edge of town that will eventually be used to construct a new water plant.
The village agreed to a purchase price of $140,000 for the property owned by Dennis Rocke, Carol Rumbold and Cheryl Baurer, which is located adjacent to the Roanoke Township building, just off E. Woodford Street. The property is not currently inside the village limits, but will likely be annexed at some point, Mayor Bob Isaia said.
“It will give us handy access to everything,” Isaia said.
In addition to serving as a site to build the new water plant, the property will also likely be used for additional uses, including possible storage of road materials.
