BENSON – Lucille Fayette Cuny, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at her home in Tucson, Ariz.
She was born in East Peoria, the daughter of Fay and Henrietta Hinds. She married Warren John Cuny, who preceded her in death in 2011.
Survivors include one daughter, Renee Trusty; two sons, Jason Cuny and Daniel Cuny; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one brother, Derald Hinds.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lucille worked at Farmers State Bank in Benson before she later moved to Tucson in 1971, where she cared for her family and worked as an accountant until retirement. She and her husband loved to tour the country and took many trips with family around the country with their travel trailer. Lucille enjoyed using and teaching her skills with crafts including sewing, knitting, macramé and oil painting. She loved music and played the organ for churches both in Illinois and in Tucson. In retirement, she and her husband would perform musical acts together at nursing homes to lift the spirits of the residents. Lucille’s greatest focus in life was on her husband and family, always working diligently to ensure their physical, emotional and spiritual needs were met. Her family is left with a lifetime of beautiful memories of times with her.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. Central time at Fountain of Life Church in Tucson.
