EUREKA - Margaret Fehr, 94, died at 2:45 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
She was born June 14, 1924, in Ellington, Conn., the daughter of Ernest and Tilly Wanner Gerber. She married Eugene Leonard Fehr on Sept. 23, 1951, in Forrest. He died May 8, 2016, in Eureka.
Survivors include four children, Dennis (Mary) Fehr, Houston, Texas, Debra Greenway, Eureka, Terry (Zanna) Fehr, Glendale, Ariz., and Leonard (Jay) Fehr, Ellington; 11
11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosetta Stoller and Betty Enserink and three brothers, Earl Gerber, Melvin Gerber and Everett Gerber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant daughter, one sister and three brothers.
The couple sent the first two years of their marriage at Ft. Sam Houston near San Antonio, Texas, during the Korean conflict. While she lived in Connecticut as a young wife and mother, Margaret worked at Hamilton Standard Military and Civilian Aircraft in Broadbrook. At one point, she participated in the manufacturing of equipment used to monitor the respiratory rates of astronauts in flight. Later, she worked for two years in real estate, where she achieved top sales in her office for both years. Margaret left the real estate field to become co-owner/operator of Fehr’s Decorating and Painting in Phoenix, Ariz., and Tucson, Ariz. She was a member of the Roanoke AC Church, rural Roanoke. Margaret loved to travel, read, as well as make arts and crafts. All who knew her liked her. Her children and grandchildren forever love her dearly.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will take place Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and Saturday morning from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
