Margaret E. (O’Carroll) Vaughan

EUREKA - Margaret E. (O’Carroll) Vaughan, 92, passed away on March 5, 2012, at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Chenoa. Margaret was born October 17, 1919, in Carrollton, a town named for her family in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Loving mother of Richard (Phyllis) Vaughan, Joan (Paul) Splawski, Philip Vaughan, Sheila Lazier and Peggy (Mike) Toliver. Dear grandmother of Richard, Laurian and Juliette Vaughan, Sean, Ryan and Natalie Splawski, Meghan and Caitlin Lazier, and Colleen Toliver. Devoted sister of Esther Campbell, also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. Funeral service was March 10 at St. Bernard Church, Homer Glen, IL. Interment private. Retired executive assistant at Standard Oil/Amoco, secretary of St. Walter's Senior Club, Chicago, resident of Victorian Village in Homer Glen, and The Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimers Association at http://www.alz.org.

Services were Saturday at Modell Funeral Home in Homer Glen. Visitation was Friday at the funeral home. Interment was private.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
