EUREKA - Wilfred David Ulrich, 94, died at 2:10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Maple Lawn in Eureka, where he was a resident.
He was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Eureka, the son of Emanuel and Mathilda Schertz Ulrich. He married Betty Stutzman on May 2, 1944, in Goshen, Ind. She died Dec. 24, 2012, in Eureka.
Survivors include four sons, David (Dale) Ulrich, Brentwood, Calif., Daniel (Sandra) Ulrich, Kitchener, Ontario Canada, Ronald (Shirley) Ulrich, Henderson, Nev., and Ross (Jill) Ulrich, Lenexa, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four brothers, Emanuel (Frances) Ulrich Jr., Harold (Lila) Ulrich and Kenneth (Ruby) Ulrich all of Eureka, and Frank (Cara) Ulrich, Archbold, Ohio, and two sisters, Mildred (Leonard) Reeb, Eureka and Geneva (Vernon) Meyer, Wooster, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wilfred served as a pastor for several Mennonite parishes throughout his life in Illinois, Idaho, South Dakota, Oklahoma, as well as Canada, before he and his wife retired back to Eureka. He was a member of the Roanoke Mennonite Church, rural Eureka.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the church cemetery. A second service will be held March 28 at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Brian Miller and the Rev. Doane Brubaker officiating. Visitation will be held on March 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is in charge of the arrangements.
