BOUNCING IT – Eureka’s Kelli Jones motors downcourt on Monday night. The Hornets fell to Illinois Valley Central 36-28.

EUREKA - Illinois Valley Central reversed a 19-point loss six weeks ago with a 36-28 victory over Corn Belt Conference host Eureka on Monday.

The Hornets (12-8, 5-4) tied the game twice at 10 and 16, but never worked with the lead.

“We tied them a couple of times, but could never knock down a shot to get over the hump,” said Eureka coach Jerry Prina. “It’s just one of those games. It (the ball) did not want to go in.”

Demi Johnson led the Grey Ghosts with 12 points. She was matched in points by Eureka's Natalie Bardwell.

Notes: Eureka's frontline is minus one, as 6-foot first-player post Hayley Coffman (torn knee meniscus) is out for the remainder of the season.
