ROANOKE - A 16-5 second half run propelled Fieldcrest to a 45-37 victory over Eureka Wednesday in the Central Illinois Tipoff. Haley Ruestman led the way with 17 points, while Tessa Holland added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Fieldcrest (2-0) defense held Eureka (0-2) to zero field goals in the third quarter, as they outscored them 12-3.

“They picked up their defense,” Fieldcrest coach Ron Kreiser commented. “They (Eureka) had 22 in the first half and 15 the rest of the way. I like what I see. Last year, we were giving up 45 points per game. You’re not going to win any games giving up that many.”
Eureka received eight points from point guard Josie Hodel.
