EUREKA - At one stage, Eureka held a 43-32 lead in the second half before Pontiac went on a 31-9 surge to earn a 63-55 Corn Belt Conference victory on Friday.

Neil Lambert poured in 18 of his 21 points after the break for the Indians (6-6, 3-1), coached by former Hornets' player Brandon Martin. Pontiac did not have the lead until the 4-minute and 7-second mark of the fourth quarter.

Although Eureka (2-11, 0-7) remained winless in the league, veteran coach Tim Meiss took away some positives.

"I thought we did a lot of things well," he said. "We shot it well, handled it well and played good defense in the first half."

The Hornets held a 32-22 advantage at halftime. Junior Andrew Hoelscher finished with 21 points.
