ROANOKE - In a match that lasted approximately 40 minutes, Roanoke-Benson handled Midland 25-13, 25-16 Thursday night at Dick Broers Gymnasium.
Sophomore Kamryn Kearfott struck for eight kills, as the Rockets (7-5, 3-0) ran its Tri-County Conference winning streak to 34 straight.
R-B also served up 15 aces, including six apiece from Maddy Oltman and Brynn Rossman. The guest Timberwolves (11-8, 1-2), who received four kills from Courtney Kingen, were without the services of junior regular Maddie Grandsart (sprained ankle).
“I’m anxious to look at the stats,” said Rockets' coach Jodie Sauder in terms of serving. “That was one thing I think we needed to work to take advantage of their (weak) serve receive. We heard a player was out. She’s a starter so they would not be able to run their system the way they wanted.”
With Ottawa Marquette and Putnam County both falling, R-B moved into sole possession of first in the league with the sweep.
