McLEAN -- McLean Police Officer Sean Harbison has received a letter of commendation in recognition of his efforts to safe the life of an 8-year-old girl.
"Officer Harbison's attention to duty, competence and compassion helped save the life of a young citizen of McLean and reflects credit upon himself, the McLean Police Department, the village of McLean and the police service," read a letter presented by Police Chief Rick Davis.
Harbison was the first officer to arrive at the Feb. 13 medical call. He administered CPR until the Mount Hope/Funks Grove Fire Protection District EMT unit arrived.
The girl's pulse was re-established and she was taken to Bloomington and later transferred by helicopter to a Peoria hospital.
